After a week end of tough racing at the Blue
Bears invitational, a small contingent of bears were in action in
Vancouver this past weekend. The CDSC
meet has served as great racing opportunity for our swimmers and
the last chance to qualify for Western Champs as we prepare for the
championships. This year was no
different, the swimmers present raced hard through long sessions,
the team flew in on Friday, raced that afternoon and throughout the
week end and were on a flight back to Edmonton Sunday night. The days lasted from 7:30 in the morning to
6:30 in the evening, as a bonus the fresh air and warm weather made
the hard conditions easier to deal with, but at the end of the day
it was just business as usual - race
hard and race fast.
The swimmers swam great and competed hard,
congratulations to Alisia Saroukian for her new Western time and to
Kyle Folk who broke the club record in the 100, 400, 800 free.
Look forward to great racing in the coming
months at the Championship meets as our bears are primed to go!
